December Yoga Newsletter from Scaravelli Inspired Yoga Teacher Catherine Annis

Hi everyone,

December can be sooo busy, can’t it?  The nights draw in early, there’s shopping and socialising, and before you know it, we’re into next year….  The parties and preparations are exciting, but demanding, leaving us little time or space for inner quiet, personal reflection, or rest. Restore the balance, and dedicate one night in December to yourself.  Join us on the last Friday before Christmas for a blissful evening of total chill time in a yoga nidra workshop and leave feeling restored and ready for the festivities.

As some of you already know, Triyoga moved from its Primrose Hill building to a brand new home in Camden on Thursday 11th December.  It’s a lovely space, and the move is really exciting and inspiring, so please come along and help me settle in by joining me there for one of my regular classes. I hope the new building will provide an equally nurturing and supportive home for our yoga family in the years to come.

Yoga Nidra for Christmas – the art of yogic sleep

19th December Friday 7.45-9.30pm
Triyoga ~ Camden, 57 Jamestown Road, London NW1

Yoga, Workshop, triyoga, London, Camden, Jamestown Road, NW1, uk, class, classe, Catherine Annis, Scaravelli Inspired, best lovedJoin me at the new Triyoga venue in Camden on the last Friday before Christmas to chill out and unwind in preparation for the celebrations.

After a busy year, we’ll practice some simple asanas focusing on breath and gravity, allowing the practice to gradually seep in, dissolving tension and moving us to a state of deep relaxation and quiet.  Finally, enjoy a long session of yoga nidra – a form of guided resting meditation, where you float in the space just before sleep, aware of everything, yet blissfully detached.  Leave feeling calm, totally rested and refreshed – ready for the festivities ahead.   Suitable for all levels and particularly helpful for those working with stress related conditions and those who would like to improve their sleep.

Self Practice

Why practice at home?

Of course it’s easier to rely on a teacher to talk you through each position, but developing your own personal practice has many far reaching benefits:

• It helps you to listen and tune in to yourself, to notice when you are tired, or tense, so that you can take action before you get tetchy with your partner, children, or friends
• Regular practice can help you break free from old patterns of movement and behaviour which may no longer serve you
• Most surprisingly, spending a few minutes each day focusing on quiet, mindful movement helps you create a very real sense of more space and time in your life.

Enjoy your week, and I look forward to seeing you very soon.

Much love,

Catherine
