Catherine Annis
Catherine is a member of the yoga teacher training faculty at London’s top yoga studios of triyoga in London, and is well known for her imaginative and practical approach to yoga.
Originally a professional dancer, she discovered yoga as a teenager, and has been practicing for over 35 years. Having studied various styles of yoga including Sivananda, Iyengar, Astanga and various forms of Hatha yoga, she eventually gravitated to the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli.
Catherine’s daily yoga practice and teaching focuses on deepening physical awareness and alignment to reveal and release the natural freedom of the body, particularly the spine.
She holds a Masters degree in ballet studies, and is a qualified Thai massage practitioner, and it is this interest in the body which informs and inspires her teaching.
Kate Ellis
Underpinned by a profound understanding of anatomy, Kate teaches Hatha Yoga with an emphasis on the body as process, which can be explored to deepen self-knowledge. With a background in Bodywork and meditation, her teaching encourages students to go beyond performing poses to explore the dynamic and transitory experience of becoming present. In her own words:
“Alignment is not a fixed state but an inquiry into the various tensions and forces at play in the body where we are invited to listen and respond”.
Kate currently teaches on the triyoga Level 1 Teacher Training and the Yoga Therapy Diploma course run by Yoga Campus. She has over 5 years experience teaching and mentoring student teachers and has taught for over 10 years.
