Marilyn Monroe, best known for being a mid-century sex symbol, is rarely thought of as a fitness icon, but during a 1952 interview with LIFE magazine, she revealed that she exercised regularly.
Monroe was a devotee of yoga and enjoyed practicing. It was a fact she didn’t publicise much and there are few photographic records of her doing yoga. However, in 1948 there were are handful of black and white photos taken, and a couple there after. Marilyn learned yoga from Indra Devi, who many consider to be the “The First Lady of Yoga”?

Marilyn Monroe, the iconic sex symbol of the 1940-1960s graced the cover of hundreds of magazines in most countries around the world. Oozing sexuality with stunning good looks, her image on any front cover ensured magazine sales sky-rocketed.
By early 1946, Monroe had appeared on 33 magazine covers for publication such as Pageant, Camera, Laff and Peek. Impressed by her hard work and determination, she signed her first contract with an acting agency the same year. With the movie contract came a new name and image; Norma Jeane became known as “Marilyn Monroe” and she began to dye her hair blonde.

Ciné Télé Revue is a French language weekly television magazine published in Brussels, Belgium.
The magazine was first published on 13 October 1944 under the name Théâtra Ciné Revue. The founder was Jean Leempoel, and Joe van Cottom was the first editor-in-chief. The magazine is published on a weekly basis and has its headquarters in Brussels. The original focus of the magazine was the American movies and film stars. In 1984 the magazine switched its name to the current one, Ciné Télé Revue, and began to focus on television programs.
