Scaravelli Inspired Yoga Workshops in Abu Dhabi, UAE

In January 2015, Catherine Annis ran a full weekend of themed yoga workshops in Abu Dhabi, exploring the pioneering teachings of Vanda Scaravelli.

Scaravelli Inspired yoga is a gentle yet demanding form of Hatha yoga which focuses on developing core strength through releasing tension and creating length and space in the spine.  This practice works with breath and gravity to encourage the spine to unfold like a wave, allowing the uninhibited opening and energizing of the whole body.

During this weekend we explored how this subtle approach releases and restores the natural flexibility of the body, maintaining overall health and a naturally supple spine.

The primary aims for those attending each workshop was to:

  • Discover a fresh approach to yoga that will radically transform your practice
  • Release unnecessary effort and tension, and help restore the body’s natural health, vitality and energy
  • Deepen your understanding of anatomy and structural relationships, the mechanics of movement and breath
  • Develop gradual, sustained changes in breathing, posture, strength and mobility, building a strong connection between the mind and body.
